Ghost

A large female. Known to the crew by name. Sighted at the Neptune Islands at least once in recent years.¹ That's it. That is nearly everything that has been published about Ghost outside the Foundation's internal records.

She is on this site because the others aren't the whole story. For every Imax with sixteen years of data, there are hundreds of sharks like Ghost — catalogued, identified, real — with almost no public record at all. The Foundation's database holds over two thousand individuals. Most of them look like this: a name, a sighting, a set of marks in a file that hasn't been written up for anyone outside the research team.

Ghost is what the database mostly is.
